Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy deals with the collection and handling of personal information and other data on the 'Welcome to Saltash' website. It includes who is doing the collecting, and what data is being collected, together with how various data may be used, and to whom data may be disclosed. It also addresses the principles of ethics and enforcement.

Personal Information is individually identifiable information that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact that individual. Also other types of information (eg: hobbies, interests, and information collected through cookies or other tracking mechanisms) when they are tied to individually identifiable information.

Who is doing the collecting? I, Sylvia Joyce, am the sole person who operates this site and sees any email sent to kernoweb@blueyonder.co.uk. Email sent to me is received at my residence on my desktop PC which operates behind a firewall and runs correctly-installed and up-to-date antivirus and anti-spyware programs. My email provider is Virgin Media who are required by law to collect certain telecommunications data and to store these data for a period of two years.

What data is being collected? I do not use cookies or any other tracking mechanism. I collect data only via email sent to me. What data I may collect, therefore, depends on what data you may choose to send me. Virgin Media are required by law to collect the source, destination, date, time, and duration of all communications (but not include the actual content of emails).

How may data be used? If you send me an email, I may use your email address to write you back. How I use any other data contained in such emails depends upon the content of each individual email, but I won't keep or use any data (including your email address) beyond writing you back unless I have your express or implicit permission to do so.

To whom may data be disclosed? I will comply if I am legally compelled to disclose data to an authorised agency, but I will not disclose any data (including your email address) to anyone else unless you specifically request or permit me to do so. Virgin Media will make data held by them available to specific authorised agencies if required by law to do so.

Ethics: I personally pledge to maintain confidentiality in all my dealings with other people, and to safeguard the privacy of all individuals, especially children.

I personally pledge always to treat all individuals with honesty, fairness, and respect, regardless of ethnic or national identity, religious or polititical affiliation, age, abilities, opinions, or gender.

I personally pledge never to encourage or to make use of unsolicited bulk email (spam) or any other form of junk mail. Any and all spam and other junk mail received by me will always be instantly deleted without acknowledgement and without forwarding to any other individual.

Enforcement: I consider this Privacy Policy to be a legally enforceable contract between myself and the public at large.

If you have any questions concerning this Privacy Policy or your dealings with this site, please contact me (Sylvia Joyce).
